So I bought an Oliver 77 Row Crop. Only have about 10 acres to maintain. 3-point upgrade is about $1,000. But pull-types bush-hogs are hard to come by and about $400-$600 if you can find them, which would be cheapest at this time. Don't have the money for an upgrade and a cutting deck though I'll consider this if nothing else works out. Any advise or experience?

I had the same problem a few years back. I ended up getting a used category II,complete and from a dealer, for $600. At the time, my Super 77 was my only tractor and it was worth it. Then I got carried away and bought all 3pt hitch stuff and I'll have to tell you that a good pull type bush hog will mow better than a 3pt one. There are advantages to both, and I like the 3pt especially if you do alot of backing, but that draw type will keep the farm looking good especially if you are turning corners. Hope this helps, Dennis H.

Look around and you can find a trailing bush hog, compare the price of settin up 3 pt or buyin a pull type mower
