Need pin to keep PTO lock shaft in place

I just bought a Ford model 515 sickle mower and the spring loaded pin that goes on the outside edge of the yoke to keep the PTO shaft attached to the tractor is missing. Theres also a 1/4 hole going through the center that I can put a bolt through for now, but Id rather have the pin since its easier and faster. Will this be a dealer only item or is it a universal type part that I can get from TSC or someplace? Thanks.

Just to set the record straight, it's a 5/16" hole (not a 1/4") going through the center.

I tried TSC and all they have are complete yokes. I ended up ordering one from the NH dealer, cost $8. I knew I was going to miss Quality Farm and Fleet, I probably could have gotten one cheaper there.

These are not universal parts- there are differences according to brands. Go to the dealer and get the RIGHT part for about $3 instead of cobbling it together with the wrong bolt or drilling out the part and ruining it for whoever buys that machine from you in the future. Do it right, spend a few bucks, and stay safe!

You can find those replacement parts several places and they are not that expensive. I would check with the FNH dealer first and see what they want. Frequently they are reasonable on price and the quality a step higher. Not always but frequently. BTW you got a great mower for a great price. Enjoy

I had the exact same trouble with a post hole digger. I own a small machine shop, and what I did was drill the hole through with a 1/2 drill (This matches the radius in your PTO shaft) and just use a 1/2 inch bolt and nut. You could probably use a hitch pin, but I would want to make sure it wouldn't fly out. You could really hurt someone like that!
