Wanted - Any information on a McCormick Deering #7 sickle mower. I recently acquired one in pretty good shape and would like to get a manual for it and a colour picture as I want to restore it. Any help appreciated.

Bob,

I have mine scanned onto my computer. Want me to e-mail you a copy of it? It's 3.29 MB in size.

Here is the colors I paint my mowers. It may not be 100% correct but I like the way they look.

The colors are body is red, wheels are cream, if you want to get fancy the face of the wheel is blue, the cutter bar is blue, pitman, outside grass board, and pole is natural sence I at least have never been able to find ocher and IH did change to natural later in their production of mowers. I like to paint my pitmans blue. I think it makes it look a bit more showy.

The Wisconsin Historical Society is the home of the McCormick historical files and they have posted most of the McCormick paint committee decisions on their web site. I have attached their link below.

My 2 bits worth,

Old Iron
