Greenhorn with a Ford 9N with 3pt. I need some attachments for the garden and to plough a pasture into a better motocross track for my young boys. I figure some sort of cultivator to rip the grass, then a bottom plow, then a disc set to finish it all off??? I'm no farmer but want to learn along with my younsters just to give them a different side of things. I can fix most anything if I know how it's supposed to work in the first place.

With a 9N I would recommend you invest in a Zane Thang position control device. Your 9N was designed with plowing in mind and therefore only has draft control. That becomes a problem when trying to keep a scraper or box blade at a uniform height above the ground. Zane Sherman has invented an add-on to give position control to the 9N and 2N tractors. If you go to the Ford 9N, 2N, 8N discussion board on this site and type in the words "zane thang" in the archive search box you will find dozens if not hundreds of testimonials from satisfied customers.

Like others have said consider a box blade and a swivel rear blade (wish I had one). That was quite some road trip. I know of the road in N. Idaho as I grew up in the /Preist Lake/Sandpoint/Bonners Ferry area.

Go back every yr. to visit my family. I am the "Wandering Sheppard" the only to leave home. Now living in FL - got transplanted by USN.

Take care, thanks for sharing and post progress from time to time. Motocross sounds interesting - I have 2 boys that would get a kick out that!

Very interesting trip you made. Looks like it was worth it in the end. Nice looking tractor and hope you enjoy it. I would strongly suggest you participate in the 9N/2N/8N forum on this site. numerous entries daily, and some very knowledgible people to help out N owners who have problems. I also recommend a box scraper and adjustable blade. Good luck

If all you're trying to work is a moto cross trail. I would only use a box scraper. It will have tines to break up some of the uneveness and a blade to level it back. A little more might include a mounted disc and some sort of drag to level with. If you nedd to put banks inyour track a blade that swivels side to side and up and down would prbably help. For what you want a cultivator wouldn't work too well. Fyi.
