Has anyone out there bought a brand new one? If so what brand and how good is it and how much was it? This talk about older ones has me rather interested. I think it would cut down on my weed eater time, and that would be a good thing!!
TIA

I went to the NH dealer yesterday and asked them to look up a Ford 515 and a Ford 516. They said the only Ford 516 was a manure spreader. The Ford 515 is a mower and the manual is available and so are parts.

I have a NH 451 that worked well when I used it, but all of my mowing needs now are done with a brush hog.

I got a two yr old New Idea, same thing as the old Internationals, works fine about $3200 if you can find one, parts are esy to come by and fairly cheap. I believe NH still offers one also. I don't understand what you mean cutting down your weed eating time, they don't work very good if you have to mow around a lot of obstacles, they don't manuver real well and need to be run at a fairly fast ground speed to do their job, I'd hate to have to mow a yard with one. They work great in an open field though.

I have an old sickle mower made by New Idea. It may be a 130 model but not sure. I think it could have been made in the 50's. Any information on this would be appreciated. It is complete but I need a picture for color coding. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. More information is available. It is a draw behind with pto.

Brent

We have some steep banks we weed eat right now. About 1/2 mile worth every 2 weeks. The wife is getting kind of tired of it. I bought her a new Stihl FS200 last year and she still don't want to do it.

I would go with Rowse. Good mowers. Good quality and design. AND they go into transport with the hydralics, no danger of losing a finger.
