I have a NH 271 square baler with a model 50 kicker on it. In my current situation I do not need the kicker, can I remove the kicker and still use the baler? Will an off-shoot from any other NH baler work on this baler? Also where can I find a manual for this baler? Again the model is 271 and the serial number is 8XXX.

Andy, your 271 baler can certainly be used without the thrower. Any chute from another 14 x 18 baler will work. If you remove the thrower, be sure to also remove the left hand axle bracket and put the left hand wheel and axle back in where they were from factory. The left hand wheel is relocated about 1 foot to the rear when a thrower is installed. This is to balance the baler so that the tongue doesn't get too light. If you remove the thrower and do not move the LH axle front again, the tongue will be real heavy. Steve

You can get a manual for it,right from New Holland. I think a shoot from most other New Holland balers will work on it.
