Hey all i have a 9 month old bull and am buying another shortly but i have a problem i need a spreader to get rid of all that manure and my boss a farmer will do it free but i dont want to have to keep pestering him and so i thought id try here. I live in Atglen, PA near Lancaster County and would like it to be an antique preferably a International but will settle with a John Deere or others and good to useable around a price range of $200-$300 i dont want to pay much got other bills to pay. Darren

Darren, Using and taking care of the older equipment can be a lot of fun! You can't go wrong with an old John Deere model H, if you can find one in your area. They are small and easy to move around. I picked up one for my wifes birthday last year, and she loves it! The only drawback is the 20 inch tires can cost more than the spreader. Good luck in your search.

Darren, I've found that in our area (you're about 100 miles or so SW of me), there ain't no such thing as a good, cheap, antique manure spreader. I've seen pretty well shot JD Ls get bid up over $700. Seems like when you need a spreader, so does everybody else!!! Do you get the Lancaster Farming newspaper? Maybe you can find something in there.
