Bought a sprayer for my 3 pt yesterday. I'm going to spray about 13 acres with roundup before putting on mixed grain (Alot of weeds last year). The sprayer came with flood tips. I'm sure I'll have to change these. Where do I find charts for nozzle size, pressure and tractor speed to calculate if I am putting on the 1.5 litres per acre that they recomend???

Hi, IF YOU ARE USING USED SPRAY TIPS, ONCE YOU GET THE FLOW RATE CHART , FILL THE TANK WITH WATER, TURN IT ON AT A GIVEN PRESSURE AND CATCH THE WATER COMING OUT OF A TIP FOR 30 SECS AND SEE IF THE TIP IS PUTTING OUT THE OZ/PER MIN THE CHART SHOWS. As the tip wear they put out more, 15 out of 16 of mine were putting out twice as much. New tips of the same number matched the chart. Bill

Hey kfsmith, try www.teejet.com that site should give you all the info you need. Go to "tech center" and then click on "formulas and conversion factors (US units)". Be sure you can drive your tractor as fast as you calculate. I found out I could'nt do 3 mph on my field without my gizzard shaking out, so ran out of spray 80% done! let us know how ya do.

Check at your local fertilizer plant. Also neighborhood stores that sell the herbicides or equipment. If you are in the USA, check with companies that handle Spraying Systems parts or Delavan, etc. Their catalogues have charts for nozzle numbers, spacing, height above ground, and ground speed to use.
