Corn needs water & longer season. Stick with wheat or oats or maybe milo. Plant them early is often best.

Oats, I plant corn but no water, lucky to get knee high. Somebody told me milo. It got about 3 inches high. Oats maybe some kind of wheat, but I never tried wheat.
