Lookin at this baler... it has one bad belt, and the others could probably do another 400 bales or so. We won't bale more than 200 this year.

From earlier posts I've read the IH is slow and makes a loose bale.

Sure would appreciate some good advice here... Mike

I've got a ih 241 with 2400 updates, which is the rubber starter roller and it works great, just have a little problem if you want to start a grass bale, on alfalfa it works great, has a loose
center but a tight outside.

I would look for something else. You can make over 200 bales in one day with a Vermeer. Them old F and G's are gettting cheaper in price. Around $1500-$2500 for a decent one, and they still make a pretty good bale. I have a neighbor that had a 241, he said the best thing he ever did was get rid of it!

You couldn't give me an IH 241 baler. They are a piece of crap. Poorest design of any round baler made. The double sprocket "floating" drive deal is a joke. The baler only works good under ideal conditions. If the hay is a little damp, they just chatter and won't form a bale. Even when it bales OK, the bales are pretty sloppy. Its no wonder IH got bought out after making that kind of equipment.
Just my .02 worth.

Saw one sold yesterday at auction... $1100. I've heard the same as you. I think you might be more satisfied with something a little newer.
