We are wanting to set the rear tire spacing on a JD 60 to be able to pull a three bottom 16" plow or 18" plow. Are there any books available on plows or implements? Can anyone help? Thanks.

The tractor's centerline should match the centerline of draft of the plow. That is NOT the centerline of the plow. The line of draft is 1/4 bottom width to the right of center of the plow. The plow hitch point should be adjusted to match centerline of draft, and the tractor wheels adjusted so when the right rear tractor wheel is in the furrow, the front plow bottom takes a full cut. This hitch point on a pull-type plow is easily adjusted, using the correct holes in the A-shaped frame of the plow's hitch. Basically this means, once you have determined the line of draft of the plow, the distance from line of draft to rightmost edge of the first bottom is the distance you want between centerline of the tractor, and inside edge of right rear tractor tire.
