Can anybody tell me the difference between the John Deere 14T and the John Deere 214T bailer. Is the 214T newer or is there more to it.

Thanks

The difference is similar to the difference between an f140 and an f250 truck. The one is just a little bit heavier duty than the other.

A 214 was intended for heavy duty, large scale commercial haying, whereas the 14t was the version intended for most farms and farmers who didn't make hay their #1 crop, but still had hay crops to put up.

There was also the super heavy duty, 3 wire, 16x18, moter driven 323 baler.

I think that the 214 had a heavier duty driveline, a heavier flywheel, weighed more, had a little wider pickup, and may have operated at a few more strokes per minute---which would increase capacity. The knotters are the same. In fact, the knotters haven't changed in 45 years, and are the same on all of the twine tier balers from the 14t to the 338.
