Does anyone know where I can get the straps that go on the end of a pittman arm and connect to the ball on the knife section? This is an Oliver mower, I tried to get the part from the warehouse but all they have is 26 of the same half! Lotta good those are. The ball is 1 1/4" in dia. and I have a blank pittman arm so I'm thinking any pair of straps that are the same size should work. Any ideas where to find these parts new or used? Thanks in advance

Dad found some green straps at the JD dealer to fix up the Ford mower we have. I've seen some at the (now gone) Farm & country store, so I would check all the local farm supply & dealer stores, a friendly one should be able to find you something.

Is the difference between the 2 straps a pin to hold the knife when the bar is vertical ? I have a Massey Ferguson 32 mower which has straps like that. I'm not at home to measure the diameter of the ball, though.

The straps have a slight bend to them at the end so you can't use the same part on both sides. Kind of a mirror image. If you tried to do that one side would go up and the other would be down.
