I had one that I didn't need and that needed some TLC. Sold it for $50 to a fella who wanted it to use with his 8N. He had it working in no time. I don't know what he spent to get it right.

You probably need to be patient and wait for someone looking for just the right implement to put with his Show quality 8N. Keep checking the classified ads here and see what others ask for them.

Also, you could call Palmer Fossum and ask him. Someone recently posted his phone number on the Ford 9N, 2N, 8N discussion board. He's a big time Ford tractor collector and may have some insight to the value of an accompanying Dearborn mower.

Do you know what model number it is? I don't know what the Dearborn collector market is like where you live. Total up what you spent to fix it, so that if you're absolutely forced to sell it, you can at least get your money back. But by all means try to make a decent profit on it first. You might just have to wait for the right person to come along, won't be an instant sale.

This reminds me of a situation where I live. There are two locally known Dearborn collectors here, and they hit almost every auction within 100 mile searching for that rare Dearborn piece (of course they won't tell anyone else what's rare). However, they BOTH have to be at the same auction to get really good money selling something Dearborn.
