There have been several posts recently regarding two blade tillers so I thought I would post about mine. I just finished breaking the garden and corn patch for April planting and noticed the metal decal attached to the tiller. Mine is a Dearborn, model 10-80, serial # 31101. I don't know how old it is, but think that my father bought it about the same time he got the 8N in 1950. I used this tiller behind the 8N when I was growing up here on the farm. It still works great. If anyone has info on it's age, I would like to know. Thanks.

Hi Matt,
I'm not sure what the correct name is. It may be a disk plow. My father always called it a tiller so I did too. It has two large disc blades turned at about a 45 degree angle to the forward direction. It also has a small rear metal wheel that runs in the furrow to help prevent side slip. It cuts and rolls the soil like a bottom plow. Sorry I don't have a camera to post a picture.

PCC-AL; I have a manual if you want a photocopy. It is an original copyrighted 1948. Plow is referred to as "Lift Type Dearborn Disc Plow (10-80). Drop me an email.

In my neck of the woods they call them "New Ground Plows" others call them disk plow, pan plow etc. Work great for breaking new ground with heavy root bed and rolling over stumps. I now have 2. I use them exclusively in my planted pine fields.

One is an old ALLIS? pull-type I modified to 3pth. Check implement photos for "Shep". If link doesn't work just look on the left hand side bar for implement photos.

2nd one is an Dearborn 10-80 just given to me this weekend. Fella had no use for it as he no longer raises crops. It is just like the pic but has no furrow wheel and is not pretty - will try to post pic later this week.

Hi Shep,
Thanks for the info. I can't get the photos yet, darned puter, but will keep trying.
I was surprised that my old 10-80 still worked when I pulled it out of the bushes and started using it again. It set out behind the haybarn for 25 years or so. Blades turned freely. I just discovered the zerk grease fittings yesterday and greased it good. They don't make equip now like they used to. Thanks again.

PCC-AL;
Do you still have the weight for the front of the unit? Do you know of another lying in the weeds somewhere? I would like to locate one for the other plow.
Thanks
