Where is a cheap source of used smooth harrow disks?

Haven't found any boneyards just for implements OR any wreaked harrows just sitting around. I just bought an 8'9" IH37 transport disk that needs several disks (7-9) replaced. Nominal O.D. is 15" on these. Any help would be appreciated since I need several and can't afford to replace ALL 28 of them at this time. Besides the pine fields don't care if new or used.

Make sure that you get used plates with the same shape and sized axle hole . Also would advise not to mix new blades with old unless your present discs have very little wear. By mixing new with heavily used old will put a lot of stress on the newer blades because they're more aggressive , re
sulting in breakage and uneven work.
Been there , done that.

I know here in Ms. you can see disk rusting away in the fields. I would keep looking.

Shep, we got a IH 37 and have found all of the parts we have needed in Shoup's Replacement parts book. They have alot of parts for all IH disks including disks for them.

Go to their website: www.shoupparts.com and get one of their books sent to you. They also sell combine, tilliage, and planter parts among other things.

Shep,

With the amount of labor it takes to take one of these puppy's down I would encourage you to change them all at once. Now I understand the dollar issue but what you might want to consider is rebuilding the front with new thus only costing for 14 blades and use the good ones from the front on the back. Also, not sure where you are looking for blades but try places like Agri-Supply. They sell a right decent blade at a good price. Buy the thickest blade you can get.
