Today I found a John deere No. 101 corn picker (ser# 37711) in an old barn. Can anyone give me any information on this implement? such as---- what models of tractors it will fit----when it was manufactured----and, what it might be worth??? Any info. would be greatly appreciated as I am familiar with 2 cylinder deeres (own an A, B, and an H) but am not familiar with the implements of that era!!!!!

Hey mah, this picker was made through 1946 through the early 50's. It was developed by a special engineer team at the Moline harvester works called the quick tach team. It was adaptible to all general purpose tractors as there was also a two row model used with the A and G tractors. The 101 I have seen mated to B's MT's and even a 1936 model A.

We had a 41 JD B with a 101 picker when I was a youngun. It is called a semi mounted picker and we used it till the corn got to producing too much per acre for it to handle. I don't know what years they were made but probably back in the early 40's.
