Neighbor says he's got a saw mill buried in his shed which he wants to sell. He says it connects to the PTO of a small tractor. His father supposed to have purchased it from some mail order company back in the 40's. Anyone ever heard of such a thing.

GO FOR IT! You'll love it. Will take some mechanical ability to get it set up and running. Have had M-14 Foley-Belsaw for years. I know some people pull them with something as small as a Super "C" Farmall, but I've always used a 4020 or something similar. If you stick a 24" oak log on there, you'll need 70 or 80 HP to pull it.

Frirs job I ever had was bucking slabs for my uncle who cut cross ties for the railroad after the government got to interfering with his farming too much. It was a small mill, used a MCcormic Derring 10-20. (I inherited the tractor). He built his house, barn and all his out building with wood from the saw mill. I've been looking for one. The cats meow for fencing, hog pins, etc.
