I am looking for a reliable older small square baler. It will be for a Ford 8n or Massey Ferguson TO20 type tractor. I don't know if I will need one with a motor or the pto on these tractors will be powerful enough. I have heard good things about the NH 68, will it work for these tractors, & what other balers would be a good combination for this size of tractor?
What kind of price range should I expect to pay for one of these older balers?
Thanks

A Deere 14T (or one of the newer models) or a NH 68 (or one of the newer models) should do you. For that small a tractor I would recommend getting a baler with its own engine. I would stay off any hills as well.

Something that works would probably start at about $300. People do get luckier than that but I wouldn't count on it. Be sure to get the manuals for the thing, read them and check it out before you use it.

Good luck and be safe.

I have a John Deere 214T I've used with a 9N and Farmall B. Don't know what the price is now days but its a good reliable bailer.

Your tractors can run a NH68 make sure the baler has an overrun clutch on it. I have a 68 with the overrun clutch and works good. Price range $400 to $600. parts can be found at any New Holland dealer. I would consider selling mine if your interested.
