Of the 5 FT Standard Duty Mowers listed, which one does the best job of mowing grass?
1. BUSHHOG
2. SERVIS RHINO
3. WOODS
4. LAND PRIDE

Thanks for the help!

I have a large Bush Hog used to cover large areas, and a 6 foot 3 point John Deere used to get into rough or tight areas the large unit can't get into. I've been happy with both. I agree with an earlier posting. Don't consider House. Sad to say I owned one for awhile. It was the worst balanced brush hog I ever saw. Was glad to get rid of it.

Woods or Rhino are far ahead of the others. Howse should not even be considered.

I am using a 7' Servis Rhino after owing many other rotary mowers and I am convinced it is the toughest out there. The main problem you will have with rotary mowers is the gear box. Usually the lower seal will be the first thing to go. Make sure you get a high H.P. rating on the gear box if you intend on cutting heavy brush.

Woods is reputed to be an excellent mower but I've been told the price is higher. I have just bought a 6 foot cutter recently and I looked and compared Woods, Howse, Bush hog, and King Cutter. I chose the King Cutter and have cut several acres and have 40 more to do as soon as I quit deer hunting and take the time. I have no complaints with the King Cutter. I saw several other cheaper brands I gave no time to at all that had thin metal and poor paint, etc.

It's a solid built heavy duty mower and I have no complaints.

Building or even operating a rotary cutter is not rocket science. Apart from blade tip speed, there will be more differences in cut quality due to tractor tire size and spacing, mowing pattern, grass length, texture and moisture, and hitch and tailwheel adjustments than the brand of machine. Check parts pricing and availability for any machine you consider. The definition of 'Standard Duty Cutter' will vary from person to person. Specify a make and model to recieve specific comments.
