I can't necessarily tell you what you have based on your description but I can tell you a couple of things I read. John Deere made planters with Mansur from the late 1800 into about 1911 and these would have a planter lid that said deere and mansur co. on them. The first ones were with a kind of square seed box that appears to be wood. Deere made the two row planters well into the 1940's or 50's it appears. The difference is easy to tell if it is a lister because a lister looks like a plow that throws dirt both directions not just to one side. You should post back with more detail about your planter like what the lids say on them, does it have the plow like fixture or not, is there/was there a wooden tongue, was it a 3 point setup or just an iron pull tongue setup etc. There was something called a checkwire that was used on some old models and you can tell it by looking for some spools on the sides of the planter. they don't usually look like they belong there for anything because most checkwires are long gone it seems. Good luck and hope this helps you.
