HI
I have a 6500 Woods back hoe. I don't have a manual for this implement and need to change the fluid. I have some Valvoline Hydraulic, Transmission fluid that I use on my other tractors. Will this fluid work in the Woods back hoe attachment? Can anyone help me out, I need to get this rig back on line.
Thanks Roy

I use straight hydraulic fluid in my Woods, but I don't know why the Valvoline wouldn't work. Tractor (or Transmission) Hydraulic Fluid (THF) is used for the hyraulics on the tractor for the loader and the rockshaft, it should be fine.

Thanks F14 for your reply,
I have already changed the fluid because I had to use the machine today but I was glad to get a positive response. By the way I love my Woods 6500, it has given me great service with no problems other than the one hose that blew out yesterday. I have 5 acres and the state is putting a four lane highway in my front yard so I have had to use my back hoe extensevely in the last four months. I have put my 6500 through a lot of hard work and it seems to be a very good machine. Thanks again, Roy

I am looking at purchasing a woods 6500. It is a 1999 model. My question is what is a good price?
Thanks

I hear ya. I've had my 650 for 10 years now, and while I've blown a few hoses, it's been a rugged unit, done anything I've ever asked of it.
