I have recently purchased a 1953 Ferguson TO 30 with a loader and scraper box with rippers(appears to be homemade but well done). When I use the box for scraping it waggs side to side. Is this normal or should there be some other bracing on the three point that I am missing? I am new to the tractor world so any info would be helpful.

Sounds like you need a set of stabilizer bars(chains) to hold the blade rigid. Not familiar with the set up on your tractor but most later day tractors have an attachment point outboard of the three point lift arms that chains(bars) are attached to to center the lift arms. Some use only one arm attached near the lift arm and to the lift pin of the attachment. Check with a dealer for your tractor and see what setup were available for them. I use a set of chains with a turnbuckle adjustment to center and prevent side to side movement of the blade or other attachments. AD
