Mike, I wrote you about my MF 10 awhile ago. I had the same problem when I bought the 10. Mine sat inside for a few years and was 'froze' up. My wife and I spent the 4th of July trying to get free. We got it loose finally and it ran good. If I disingaged the PTO it would almost stop on a dime. I kept putting oil and grease on those slides and after a couple of hundred bales it really freed up. My advise to you is just keep with the oil and grease. Don't get wild and start taking those slides apart.
I had to store my baler outside and every spring I had to grease and oil those slides good and wait about 50 or so bales until everything started running smooth. Keep working on it and watch for improvements after disingaging the PTO.

Nellie I read your post about a stuck #9 baler and I would like to know how you got the packer unstuck. I have a #3 that had been sitting inside with hay in it for 10-15 years and the packer is rusted tight. How did you get it freed up?

: I have a New Holland 80 baler that had been stored for 20-25 years. The bale chamber was so rusty that I couldn't make normal bales by weight or density because of the friction between the hay itself and the chamber. After 300 bales it was still not better. I bought "Slip Plate" paint from Tractor Supply Company and it worked great. It contains a lot of graphite, rolls or brushes on and dries rapidly. After this years 350 bales it still is in good shape. Dick
