I just purchased an older IH grain drill. The arrange ment on it to set for seeding rate is on a conical shaped steel piece. It has notches on it and another gear runs against it. You move the other gear up or down on the cone to get different rates. The chart is gone frm the inside of the seeder box. I can't find a model number or SN tag on it. It is trip lift, and each side lifts separately. Anybody have a suggestion on model and especially a chart for planting rate with different settings?

I've got a model M drill that sound like yours. Mine is on rubber tires and has plain (not fluted) seed runs in the cups. What this means is that the wheels in the seed cups that meter the seed down the tubes are smooth. If thay are fluted the little feed wheels would look kinda like gears. I've got the seeding charts if yours is the same.

Suggest you take a picture, or series of pictures. Then take them to your IH dealer. Mine has been very helpful in helping me get parts for my stuff. Haven't tried anything for a grain drill. Haven't found one in my price range that's in working order!

good luck
