New Idea sickle mower

Just looked at a New Idea pull behind (PTO) sicklebar mower. Owner says it won't lift. Can anyone give me some insight on how the lift clutch works, and where can I get a manual for it? There hasn't been a NI dealer here for years. Thanks, Karl.

What model number is it, diferent moder could possibly us different lift, just got book on No. 30 and no. 40 from the dealer for less for both than used manual dealer wanted for just one, look for Avco's web site, may have an address for information

Karl Agco is the current owner of the New Idea brand name. they should be able to help with a manual & parts.

I'm familiar with all the mergers, etc. that brought NI into AGCO. Problem is there are only two AGCO dealers within 100 miles of me and neither one was a New Idea dealer, so no expertise and no parts info, and no inclination to go out of their way for either.
