Looking to buy a new set of disk for 1965 ford 3000 diesel, I want to purchase a heavy duty set. All suggestions appreciated.

I am curious to know what your usage is. If it is small plots the 3pt is the best you can get. If you have big level fields of 6-10 acres and up then the offset might be the best way. I agree that the cheap disks sold at the discount houses are not great. I would recommend an old heavy MH, Dearborn, MF and King as some good used disk that may need some new disks and bearings but you will have more machine when you are done with it. I rebuilt a King 20 disk and it is a wonderful disk for garden plots and such. Can be adjusted easy and can get in the corners. I have a old Case offset that I pull when doing large plots the first time and then put the King on. I can do more smoothing with the King than the Case.

Weight means more than you can imagine. If you can pick up one corner of it then leave it where it sits

It will pull a 8' offset alright or even a 10' if you're not in black clay ground and you won't have to plow before you disc.

I would'nt get the 3 point throw away disc like Modern, Howse, and TSC sell. You'll be terribly disappointed when you pull them around a little bit.

I don't know what used disc sell for in your area, but a 10' offset wheel lift sold for $750 at auction here last month. It was in good shape heavy built with fair tires and the lift cylinder on it.
