I own a Ferguson TO-30 tractor and would like to plan on some bailing work next summer. I will be using a sickle bar mower for the cutting then a rake, etc. But for the actual bailing where can I purchase an in-line bailer (square??)? Does anybody know what the Heston web-site is??

Here's the link, but I don't think your TO-30 has enough guts to run one. The smallest model is still pretty big. And they aren't cheap, either. A good used one where I live will bring $5000 to $9500, depending on what model and what options (throwers are popular here, so balers so equipped sell higher). You can use the machine locator on the AGCO website to find used ones. BTW, the same balers are also sold under AGCO's New Idea brand, and until this year, also as CaseIH.

I went and watched a demo of the 4550 last year. They ran it good with a 2000 Ford gas burner.

I liked the baler til I priced it. $13,250 then I came back home and readjusted the 68 Hayliner one more time.

That price still comes in under a similar-sized Deere.

I priced a green round baler this spring for the co farms. I came down with sticker shock.

I don't remember the series # but the small round was over $16K without the windrow pickup wheels or pto shaft.

The price shocked me bad enough but I did'nt know they had gone to add on base prices like a car dealer.

The yuppies ended up with a Vermeer. So far so good. I like it but I don't know exactly what they paid. I know it was alots less than the green machine.

A fella told me once never buy anything the color of money. He was mostly talking about John Deere (I love Olivers so I disagree with that respect of the statement). I would take a good look at Gehl equipment if I was looking for hay/forage tools.
