I just bought a good running 9N Ford Tractor. It has a Loader on it. The Loader type makes you get on the Tractor from the rear. It is of tubing construction. There are no manuals for it. Can anyone tell me about it? What company probably made it? How much hydrualic fluid should be in it. It works pretty well. Any information on it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Go to your Ford dealer and look through his parts books, Dearborn made different models for that tractor, I would guess that is what you have, Dearborn was Fords machinery division.

Leroy, Thank you. I was not sure what model it was. In a conversation with my local Ford Tractor dealer, he said he knew nothing about Loaders on the"N" type tractors. He said everyone and their brothers made them. In fact, he said that "N" type tractors should not have a loader on them. The dealer said that the "N" type tractors were not designed to have loaders. Thank you for helping me cut thru the bull. I find it amusing that Ford themselves were involved with making something the dealer proclaimed should not be on there. Thank you.

Different company's made them, does it have a front pump or use built in pump?

The Loader has a pump in the front. It was added on when the loader was installed. Other than that, I am unsure of anything else. I looked around on the loader to find a name or number but found none. I thought I would pose this question in case a loader company was dominant in the market at one time. Apparently, many companies made them. I appreciate any help or comments about the loader.

Hi, Leroy, way back "when", my dad had a Ferguson with a loader that used pipe for construction, had to get in from the rear. This one was called a "Horndraulic Loader", hydraulics were suppleid externaly from a pump and controls that mounted on the PTO sheild bolts, This was manufactured by "Charlyn" [sp]? Bucket was activated by a "trip" mechanism. I would suspect this loader could also be mounted on a Ford, due to the configuration of the front axle being almost identical, this is where the front of the loader was mounted. Picture might help, if you have one. Have a gooder, R.E.L.

Hi Leroy. The pump is mounted on the front. And you definitely have to get on the tractor from the rear. The front bucket has hydraulics for dumping and rolling it back. The loader is tied into the governer because when the hydraulics are used, it automatically revs up the engine speed to handle the extra load. I really like the loader. As with everything, it helps to maintain it if I know more about it. Thanks for the info.
