Well I have a small tractor and will considered one of these two balers for some limited baling. What's good or bad about these two compact balers? Price for each is about $500 U.S. I plan on having the seller demonstrate them first, what should i look for in each.

Will be using a 140 Farmall, will the pto fit, if it doesn't where can i get one that will?

the 268 is probably a better baler regarding technology. but i would buy the 65 since it is truly a compact baler. it makes a 12 by 16 bale. the 268 makes a 14 by 16 bale. therefore the 65 will take less hp to operate. the bales will be small, so consider that if you are selling them. or if you have little kids that will help you hay. parts will be harder to find for the 65. the 268 part will exchange up to even modern units, the 65 probably has a collector value and will worth more in years to come.

I don't know anything about a Farmall 140 but I have a NH 268 that I have used with a Ford 8N. The OP Manual for the 268 says that this baler will work with a 1 or 2 bottom plow tractor. I had no problems using my 8N. I now use it with a Ford 861 because of the live pto. FYI Hope this helps in your decision.

A 140 will not do this an H would be minimum.
