Hi, My neighbor is over to bale my hay and his 24T is making knots that are too short and pull through when the bale is released. It is only doing this on one string. Any ideas? Please remember in your reply that I may not know what many of the parts in the tie mechanism are called.

Thank You,

Eric N.

I am working on this same problem. Just purchased a JD 24T baler and it is not knotting or tying on one side. I am having no luck finding a manual to help fix this problem, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

We tightened the drag on the twine feed and the baler started tying like new.

Try adjusting the tucker fingers, they are under the knotters bolted to the bale chamber. When the front of the finger(towards plunger) is pushed all the way to the left, should be 5/8 inch to ends of the slot in chamber. This is probably confusing u, I'll get my manual out tom and be able to better describe it.
