Does anyone have any experience with implements sold at Tractor Supply? I'm specifically looking at one of their box blades and a scraper blade. They have good prices compared to the ones that Case/IH and New Holland sell.

I bought a central tractor blade new years ago. the small stones jutting up from the frozen ground stopped it cold and bent the blade while pushing snow backwards. I had to add snow plow skids and keep blade about 1 in off ground. I had to add 3/8 by 2 in bar strap to back of blade to give blade some rigidity. I added it to the back of the blade above the cutting edge. the support from the top link down to the frame near the center near the blade bent and i had to add bar strap to that also to give it strength. I used the blade with a 8n ford. Overall I would say it would have been ok if I had added the skids before using it, and had been extra gentile with it. But why buy something that limits your use and that you have to start welding on when you bring it home from the store when it is new. A rusty old heavy well built used blade for the same money would be a better value.

I compared TSC box blade with the King Kutter sold at QFF, and went with the King Kutter. It has a better blade on both sides, and is heavier built overall. For the $40 difference, it was worth it in peace of mind. I would likely feel the same about the scraper blade, thought the same of the TSC, looked too light duty for what I would do with it. Would do snow ok, wouldn't move dirt like I do.

Just remember... you get what you pay for.....
TSC equipment is inexpensive... but it is not heavy duty. If you plan on using them alot drop the extra dollars for Case or King Kutter equipment

I own a Tractor Supply box blade but all I use it for is blading my drive and door yard. Just redistributing the limestone rock. It does great for that so it all depends on what you want to use it for. If you have a lot of dirt work, I'd go with a heavier duty blade. Otherwise... I like the Tractor Supply store better than some of the other "WalMart" like farm supply stores.

I agree with the previous followup. Tractor supply implements are "light" duty. Depending on what your doing with them and tractor you'd be using them with. For instance I looked at the blades they had when I was looking and YEP they are Alot cheeper.. CHEEPER being the key word. I ended up buying a new rino blade. When you start looking at how they are made, the supports, the welds, etc. and compare to N.H. or Case brands there is no comparing. my two cents

good luck

The ones I have used (not owned) are OK, but definitely light duty compared to the old farm implements I am used to.
