I,m looking for info on a planter that was made by D.M. Sechler implt.& cge co. It is a horse drawn one. color scheme, history would be helpful. The sickle mower is also horse drawn. It does not have a name on it but all pieces have what looks like a cross or four leaf clover in a circle. All casting numbers begin with an "A or AC" mostly with "A". May have originaly been red with yellow wheels and seat. Someone said it might be a "dane"(sp) thought they were bought out by John Deere. Any and all help or leads greatly appreciated.

I finally got the book I ordered. It was not what I was expecting. It only identified basic types of implements and only had black and white pictures. It did not attempt to identify manufacturers or their colors. Still looking.

Mark: I just ordered a book from amazon.com titled "Identifying Horse Drawn Farm Implements" (or something similar to that), $10.95. I have an old dump rake and sulky plow I want to try to identify and restore to original colors. I should get it in a few days. I will let you know if it is of any help.
