I just purchased a Case PTO Corn Binder. I can not seem to find any model number on it anywhere. It is almost all metal with a side shoot unloader. It has a skinny metal wheel on one side and wide metal wheel on the other side. I would like to get a operator/parts manual for it. I called Binder books and they could not find any information for a Case Corn Binder. I used the binder over the weekend and it seemed to work well. What year would this equipment be made?

I would check e-bay under Case advertising or just type in Case binder in their search and see what comes up. I have a sales brochure for your binder and I'm sure I've seen parts books and operator manuals in the past.

I would say your binder is probably 30's era. Although I'm not familiar with Case's offerings, both JD and IH had put PTO corn binders on the market in the late twenties and early thirties as PTO became available on their tractors, so Case probably jumped in around the same time. The steel wheels say it's pre-WWII, as post-WWII machines from JD and IH were on rubber (again, I'm assuming Case went with the flow). Field choppers had made their appearance before the war, and after the war, they sold in great numbers, while binder sales plumetted. Both JD and IH had dropped corn binders by the early fifties, so it's safe to say that Case had by then, as well.
