I recently aquired a disc plow and have no idea what year or model number it is. The plow is complete and I am starting restoration but it would sure help if I could identify the year and model so that I could get a parts catalog and owner's manual. The plow has 6 18 or 24 inch discs. One wheel is spoked and the other is solid cast. The rear wheel is just a weighted rim. you can see pictures of the disc plow by clicking on the link. Any help would be appreciated.

Wow! We had one of those things when I was a kid. Had 5 blades and took a 4' cut. All wheels were steel, however - furrow wheel and tail wheel were so heavy they were cast in sections and bolted together. It was a beast to pull with our JD B, but it sure made short work of even the toughest sod. The second trip over the field at 90 degrees to the first was a real rough ride. As I remember it was made in Canada, and the bolts and nuts were not compatable with standard wrenches. Sure wish my dad hadn't gotten rid of it when he retired - haven't seen another since!

Jason, This is correctly called a disc tiller, it differs from a disc plow by having the discs all on one shaft or gang. A disc plow has a separate standard for each disc much like a moldboard plow. Yours appears to be a #260, you can get a parts manual from John Deere it is PC255. I don't think they have an operators manual available but there are some around used. I have one of these and it takes some practice to manuever it around a small field. good luck, Bob
