Never run an 850 but I have an 846 which is also a chain baler. I've made nearly 2000 bales with it and it was used when I got it. Outside of my own stupidity I've never had any trouble with it. It is easy to run and to work on. Just keep the chains oiled and tensioned. I like this baler because I can see how the bale is forming alot easier than with a belt baler. If you are baling straw or very dry hay grains you will find that you will have a hard time getting the bale to start. If you idle down to VERY slow until the bale gets started and rolling good then you can speed up. If the crop starts to come back out the front overtop of the pickup or it plugs up you might just as well open the tail gate, clean it out and start over. Good luck I think you'll find that you like it if it is in good shape.
