Lely Disc Mower Horsepower Needs??

I am looking at a Lely Five disc 3pt mower and It is about 7 to 8 feet long. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much Horsepower I would need to operate it properly and where can I get replacement parts.(it needs blades and blade parts) It is is good condition can anyone give me a value of what it is worth?? Thanks for you time Arnold

I run a 5 disc and a 6 disc Lely mower. According to my book the 5 disc requires 37HP minimum. My IH dealer is also a Lely/Vicon dealer and I get all my parts from them. Vicon and Lely are made by the same folks and the blades are the same but that is about all they have in common. I like the Lely mowers. I don't have to work on them much but when I do they are easy to work on. As far a value it probably depends on your area. Around here about $2000 for a used one. My only complaint is the bushings they use where the cutter bar pivots. Keep them greased and change them regularly. But all mowers I've seen use bushings there and have the same problem.

I just bought a new JF 6 disk at 4200.00 price mistake on there part. The min. hp for mine is 42. The blades are only 2.50 a piece. What year is the cutter and what parts does it need?
