I haven't sean anybody use one since i was a little kid in the early sixties. And most of the ones in our area were small pulled by a farmall "H" or "M".If i remenber right the had 4,5 maybe 6 disk blades on them. They were usefull and could handle more trash like corn stalks then any of the old pulltype plows at that time could.

I was wondering if any other areas use larger unit that were more updates like ball bearings instead of grease block bushing and on rubber tire not the old heavy cast wheels. For some of the tillage we do today this could be a usefull tool but we would need a minimum of 12 to 16ft wide and wheels for easy transport and not have to stop 6 times a day for greasing. Also plowing even with a 14" bottom you have to be 4" to 6" deep to do a good job. With this type of tool you should be able to plow shallower and still do a level job. I know in the West its said these disk plows helped start the dust bowl. But around home they were only replaced because larger tractor came along that could handle larger mowboard plows. And not much ground can stand deep plowing these days or the farmer can't stand the expences in plowing.

We do alot of notill here in SW ontario but were not done with the plow yet. What we need is just a less agresive tool to bury extra trash some years and not disturbe the land so deeply. Thank in advance for any info.
