I just got a used disc that I would like any info I can get on it. It still has some of the JD green paint on it and I can make out the text "John Deere - Killefer" on the rear rail. It has 7 - 20" discs in front of another 7. It has a ratchet that you operate to adjust the angle by backing up or going forward. It is about 4.5' wide. Has anyone ever heard of this collaboration between JD and Killefer. When were they made? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mel

Sounds to me like you have a Killefer 100 series disk. I have one and the parts breakdown as well with picture. Actually yours is a model 105 5 1/4 wide with 14 disk blades...shows it on my parts diagram. Since I helped you maybe you can help me. The spring trip latch that locks into the latch bar rack assemble on mine disk is broken off and I need a pattern to have one made. There are two bolts you undo as I recall and the latch comes out. It is the same part on your disk as mine. If I sent you a picture via email or regular mail of what I need a tracing of would you be willing to help me so I can put my disk back in operation. I'd be willing to compensate you for your time. Also if you have a fax I can send you the parts breakdown for your disk. Some parts are still available. Thank you for your time. john in Sebastopol, CA

Deere aquired Killefer in the 30's to easily market tillage implements used in the California ag area's as orchards, and vineards. This company was based in LA, and I believe Deere closed it in 1965.
