Any advice on whether or not to purchase it, & why??-- Pros & Cons of chain drive vs belt drive?
-- How old would this unit be, and how much is it worth?

They were mfg from 7-76 to 7-77.

It aways starts a fire storm on the should I buy it question so I won't advise on it I'll just say that I still use a 845 and my neighbor still runs a 848.

While the other neighbors with Vermeer and Gehl are broke down waiting on parts one of us will usually have to get the hay up for them about twice a year.

If you get the NH manuals and keep it serviced and the chains adjusted right you can't beat it.

If you like to rough house and pull your equipment up and park it instead of performing maintenance you may as well get a belt baler because you'll get to work on them no matter what, and the belts and bearings are very expensive.
