Does anyone have a dual rake attachment for NH Rolabar rakes that are both the same. The Rolabar 56 parts manual shows one of these but no dimensions. I would love to get a picture of one. There are a couple of these rolabar rakes in the community and it would be nice to put two of them to work at the same time. I am considering building one since I would imagine that finding one would be impossible. Any Ideas out there

Thanks for the info guys. I have requested from the web a promotional pakage on the Rolabar rakes and that supposedly has the hitch info in it. The one I was originally referring to was a U shaped hitch that had a wheel on either side and could be used to rake one big windrow or two smaller ones. I'll let you know what I do...

jerry i think what u are lookin for is the v-tandem rake hitch, in which it rakes two windrows into one using a right and left side delivery rake. Or is the model 252 pivot-tongue rake hitch what your lookin for. It uses two left had rakes to either make two different windrows or rake two windrows into one. it is fully adjustable to do these operations. just check your NH dealer about information on these to rake accessories. it shoulldnt be too hard to build the V-tandem rake hitch. but a little more complicated for the model 252. thats my cents worth good luck

Jerry, stop in at your NH dealer and pick up the sales booklet for rakes. The last one I saw had a
good picture of the dual rake unit and you can
get your ideas from there to build one. Good luck.

All I see on the web don't do what I want to do. I want to cascade the hay from one rake to the next and rake two rows from a 9' MoCo into one windrow. The ones they sell now pulls two rakes but makes two windrows. The one shown in the 56 parts manual cascades the hay.

If the one you saw on the web is what I think it is, it can be disassembled and turned over to spill one rake into the other and make one windrow. Four bolts and a little application of bull strength and ignorance. You should also check out the bridge hitch type, which steers with your tractor hydraulics, and will set the rakes either way, or behind one another for traveling down the road and getting through narrow gates. A lot of guys have built them from dead hydroswing type mowers.

Thanks for the info. I have checked into the overarm model and the day that I hit the lottery I intend to visit the closest FNHCIH dealer and spend most of it but the modest amount of income I derive forces me to trying to minimize cost. LOL You are right though that is one heck of a nice hay system.

I have a friend that had a 56 and bought another 56. He could not find an attachment so he had a welder build him one. It works like a charm. I think this would be your best route.

Was the 56 a right hand or left? Or was it available both? The hitches I have seen were for a right and left pair. That way the hay from the first rake didn't have to go through the second one too.

The 56's were all left hand or the windrow was raked from right to left whichever that was but they were all the same. That is what I want in contrast to what NH offers today. all of the rakes in the community are left handed so for it to be useful to me it needs to be for hooking up two of the same type.
