John Deere planter plates?

Are all JD corn planter plates interchangable from the earlier models such as the 290 and the later models like the 1240 etc.? What years did they change them if they did? I have about 30 or so I got with a 694 parts planter. Most are metal, some are plastic. What would they be worth selling as a set of two? Thanks for the input.

I bought 30 plastic plates of various sizes at an auction last month. $1.00 for all 30.

I sold a bunch in 1999 that I got in a box of miscellaneous plates on auction at an old seed dealer. I kept the Ford plates, and sold the JD plates for $6.00 per set of two (5 sets), and the IH plates for $8.00 per set of four (4 sets). It took a few months though, wasn't an instant sell. I still have a few AC plates (nobody wanted them) and a couple 2 row IH sets.
