What do seed drills usually sell for? I dont know what type I want or need. I have a Ford 8n and I would like to plant clover, wheat, sorghum, and maybe some sunflower seed. I would rather purchase a used one.
Thanks Mark

Out here (mountain states) they're going real cheap. Lots of them around and nobody buying the old one's. Unless your oil well is doing good the new ones are nice but very pricey. I bought a VB Model LZ for $100 and thought I'd got a real good deal until I saw one go for $20 at auction a couple weeks back. There's disc openers and shoe openers, with disc closers and wheel closers as well. Not sure about the others, but I know JD still has parts for the old Van Brunts and they still carry manuals for most of 'em. If you find an interesting one, post out here again and Tim(nj) should join in on the discussion. He's got a wealth of knowledge and told me what to look for on my LZ. He's real sharp on the old drills...

You want a John Deere (Van Brunt), Minneapolis Moline, or IH grain drill with a grass seeder attachment on it. Probably other brands, but that's what I see around here. They come 8 - 14 feet, 10 or 12 being common. Some are on huge steel wheels, others are on low rubber.

What to pay? Depends what you buy & where you live. $200 - 800 is common around here.
