What is the best way to plant sorghum for a turkey food plot? Do you drill, broadcast, or plant it in rows? If you plant in rows how far apart? Do I need to worry about weeds?
Thanks Mark

I broadcast. No, I don't worry about weeds. I don't use fertilizer for food plots as fertilizer is bad for stream runoff and not necessary in that situation. I mix sorghum, millet, lespedeza, and soy beans and broadcast. Should plant in May here (VA).

Thanks, Phil, good info. I'm going to follow your formula next year (I live in VA as well). I'm also interested in planting for quail. I know lespedeza is good. What about the others you mentioned?

Thanks Mark
