If it won't let go of the first knot it made and this is stopping it from tieing bales then :
spray some penatrating oil on the bill hooks. These are the curved hook with a little "bill" that is supposed to open up. The twine will usually be twisted up on it at this point so you will probily have to cut it off. After appling the WD40 take a flat screw driver and pop the bill open. This should not take much force. Start the baler and try to tie again. if the knot did not slip off the bill hook then shut off the baler and pop the bill open again. After 3 or 4 times the knot should begin slipping off and it should not give trouble anymore that day anyway. The billhooks get rusty and stick from storage.

Bryan

I picked up a McCormick 46t baler that sat for 2 years. I bought a manual for it and went though everthing on that baler. The first time out it would not tie a single knot, but like the other post said it just might need to get the rust off of it. My old dog only misses about one in thirty now. Get a manual and go through the baler and it will work. Good luck

The last time you used your baler did it tie? If it did and now it will not the knotter may be rusty, take the twine out, spray some WD40 on the knotter parts run the baler and trip the knotter. Then put the twine in and try it.

You can call Deere and order a manual. I don't have the number here at work.
