I'm having trouble with plastic round baler twine in my NH 845 round baler. When I go to wrap the bale it doesn't want to grab the twine and start pulling it. I've been having to stop and pull a bunch out to that it can get some way back in the bale chamber. Never had this trouble with natural fiber twine. I don't know if it's that the plastic is too slick and the hay won't grab it or what? Has anyone else ever had this trouble, and if so what's the cure? Thanks.

Used plastic twine one year , thought it was great till winter when I started feeding . You have to get all that twine off there and you always miss some . Found a piece with my chainsaw up in the woods last winter , it dont go away !!

I always start tying before I stop the tractor, thus the hay going in the chamber helps the string get started. If I stop the forward motion and then try to tie the bale I have a hard time getting the string to catch. Johnny

It is'nt leaving a long enough tab of twine to pickup when it does that on you.

If you want to run the twine tension tight just run the twine rail to the right and then bring it back towards home position. Going right will pull enough excess twine out so that the hay will catch it, and going back towards home with it will let the excess drop down against the bale.
