Somebody awhile back had some advice on setting up an MF124 baler for Poly twine.

I'm trying to resurrect a MF124 that's been in the back barn for 10 years and was set up for sisal when 'put to bed'.

I've read in the manual to set the twine tension very loose at the twine box... but as I recall there was some other advice offered awhile back on setting the knotters...

Any help appreciated... I just hope the old girl holds together to lay another 5000 bales this year.

Do you have the manual and does it cover the settings for the twine disk, billhook tension and twine tension. Load the poly and go through those setups and it should tie. I have a 2 Ford balers and one is set up for each but they are the same equipment. Some manufacturers recommend a different billhook for poly but given the cost I can deal with a rebale occasionally.
