We are restoring a #9 McCormick Deering mower and were wondering if anyone could tell us what color it should be,the dates it was made and any other information.

Thank You Ray

The #9 was built from 1939 to 1951.

I've got 2 McC-D No 7 mowers I'm trying to restore, but the "paint Committee" source has nothing specific on No 7's - any suggestions on other color sources? I wouldn't mind seeing your No 9 photo, though. Thanks

you can find the correct color scheme in the IHC Paint Committee Decisions; however, they are basically red, white, and blue for (believe it or not) patriotic reasons since most of them were made during wartime years or threat of war years. I just reconditioned a #9, and if I do say so it is "gorgeous" and functional. for photo, please reply to my e-mail.
