Doe's anyone know if I can still get parts for my New Holland 66 baler???? More specifically, needles. I broke one!!!!! Can you weld them back together????? If not, what can I expect to pay for a replacement if they are available? Thanks, JDHUMP

What welding procedure do you use to weld them up? Are they cast steel or cast iron?? Can I weld them myself with my stick welder or braze them, or do I need to hire it done?? Thanks, JDHUMP

Some guys braze in reinforcing rods across the break and it seems to work. Depends on the details. Welding with a soft iron or nickel rod probably would be a better idea. It can be done.

You can stick weld them.

You can take the other needle off for a model.

Now take the good needle and lay it on a scrap piece of 2X8 or so, and take some 20 penny nails and nail a pattern around the good needle for a jig .

Grind a V in the crack and weld heck out of it. I use a Forney cast iron rod but I can't recall what number they are. I don't think a braze job would be strong enough.

I can still get most all parts for my N.H. 65 compact hayliner. (except the hay knife) I just priced last year couple new needles i believe they were about 125.00 a piece. Dont quote. I have two pair and all four have been welded and seem to work alright. Contact your N.H. dealer Good Luck
