Does anyone have a picture of a model 55 NH hayrake that has the original color scheme. The manual I got has only B&W and I am wanting to be sure if I am going to put the effort into it...

Jerry,

If you haven't gotten the color scheme yet let me know and I can take a picture of mine and send it to you, I have a super 55. I didn't see your message till today so if you've already gotten the info I don't need to duplicate it.

I don't have a picture yet but I am not sure that your Super 55 is the same color. NH built the 55 from 54 to 58. This was the first Rolabar offered as far as I can tell. The Super 55 was the follow on product built only for 1 year, 1958. Unless I am mistaken your rake has a yellow frame and a red basket and mine has a red frame and a red basket. The 56 started production in mid 59 and had the "standard" red frame and yellow basket... I would enjoy a picture if you have it any way. Thanks again for responding.

No photos, but the basket, strippers, tine bars, teeth, gearbox and inclined driveshaft and rims are all yellow, the frame, axle, hubs, lift mechanism, hitch and jackstand are red.

The 55 does not seem to be that way. I know that is the way the newer ones are but this one has definitely red paint on the spiders and the strippers and the basket frame. The wheels are yellow and the angle pieces holding the basket frame are yellow. The spiders being red makes me think this one might have red rolabars as well. The 55 was the first one and I know the Super 55 follow-on had a yellow frame with a red basket. Now you see the reason for my confusion.

Yea, I think mine is a 55, sounds closer to your description that the other guy's. If I remember (e-mail reminder wouldn't hurt...) I can take a pick, check my model #, & send you an e-mail pic. The paint is pretty faded, but there...

I suspect these color features were changed a bit year to year, even on the same model, so you probably can't go too wrong.
